A Swedish company acquires the Jordanian gaming platform Jawaker in a deal worth $205 million

Jawaker gaming platform is trendy among teenagers and young people in Jordan and the region.

The Swedish company Stillfront Group announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Jawaker Electronic Games Company for $205 million.
74% will be paid in cash, and the remaining percentage will be paid as new shares in the Swedish group.

What is Jawaker Company?

Jawaker, headquartered in Jordan, was launched in 2009 by two young men, Muhammad Hassan and Youssef Chamoun.
The company provides users with many games known in the Arab world, as the application includes more than 30 card and table games such as Hand, Tarneeb, Trix of all kinds, 400, Tang, Konkan, and Dominoes.
These games are famous in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq, and they also include games known in North Africa and the Arabian Gulf, such as Baloot, Saudi Hand, Saudi Deal, Kut Bo 4, Kut Bo 6, and Bint Al-Sabait.

The Jawaker application provides users with the ability to play with players around the world, create a private game, invite friends, and also have a voice chat feature while playing.
Jawaker receives most of its revenues from the Middle East and North Africa.

Jawaker moved its headquarters to Abu Dhabi, but it still includes some offices in Amman and Jordan.
It also has a team of 50 employees, and it is expected that for the year Jawaker will achieve some of the goals it seeks to obtain profits.
From which some sellers will receive additional revenues that may reach $20 million, according to the terms of the agreement with Stillfront Group.

The platform is considered one of the most popular gaming platforms among Jordanians and Arabs.

Founders of the Jawaker platform

The two Jordanians, Muhammad Al-Haj Hassan and Youssef Chamoun founded an employment company in 2007 to work on solving the unemployment problem facing Jordan and others in the Arab region.
They launched an online platform that serves as an employment network to connect job seekers with company owners to find suitable job opportunities.
The company specializes in the field of recruitment only to serve the Middle East and North Africa region.

Mohamed Hassan Al-Hajj obtained his Master’s in Business Administration in 2006 from the Graduate School of Business Administration at Stanford University in the United States of America.
In 2003, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States of America.

Mohammed Hassan Al-Hajj worked in Dubai and Amman as Vice President at Rasmala Investment Bank between 2004 and 2006.
He also served as a financial analyst at Commerzbank between 2003, and 2004. was also a member of the board of directors at Akhtaboot Company in 2014.
He is also a founding partner and member of the Board of Directors of Jawaker Company. A member of Endeavor in 2010 in Jordan.

Youssef Chamoun obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2001 from McGill University in Canada.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2006 from Georgetown University in the United States.
He held several positions, including CEO and co-founder of Akhtaboot since 2017.
Member of the Board of Directors of Jawaker Company in 2009.
He is also the CEO and co-founder of ZenHR Solutions in 2017.
